Johnson has been working on adapting the character for ten years and has plans for future Superman films. Despite bringing in $250 million worldwide, the film’s fate is still in the air. With an estimated $200 million production budget (not including marketing and promotion), the Warner Bros. picture has yet to be formally greenlit for a sequel.

The representation of varied populations throughout the world is essential, and characters like Hawkman and Cyclone are fantastic additions to the DCEU. In addition to the domestic $250 million in sales, there was an international total of $139 million. There is optimism that the DC film will replicate Aquaman’s success and become the studio’s first to gross $1 billion.
