Jigna Vora was born on February 22, 1974, in the Ghatkopar neighbourhood of Mumbai. She completed her undergraduate studies at DG Ruparel College and earned a diploma in mass communications from the K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management in Mumbai.
Vora was born into a Gujarati household; her father is a businessman in Dubai. Harshaben, her mother, passed away of a heart attack on June 9, 2015.
She married in 1998, left her internship at a prominent organization, and moved to Bharuch, Gujarat. After getting divorced, she and her kid moved back in with her parents in Ghatkopar.

Jigna Vora Controversy
On June 11, 2011, near Hiranandani Gardens in Powai, Mumbai, J Dey was shot and killed by assailants who fled the scene. The assailants were revealed to be hired killers working for the mafia boss Chotta Rajan. On November 25, 2011, Jigna was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
The investigating officer, Himanshu Roy, based the murder case against Rajan on phone records that included conversations between her and Vora. The investigation team also concluded that Vora’s professional rivalry with Dey was the driving force behind Dey’s murder. According to the investigation, Vora gave Rajan access to vital information about Dey, such as his residence and vehicle license plate number, allowing Rajan to plot the murder. She faced charges under the IPC, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the Arms Act for allegedly committing murder, criminal conspiracy, and the destruction of evidence.
The Byculla Women’s Jail in Mumbai was her home for the next nine months. A special court released Jigna Vora on bail on July 27, 2012, since she was a single mother. In 2018, the court hearing the case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) found Chotta Rajan and eight other suspects guilty but no evidence to prosecute Vora.
