Height

Male applicants must be at least 170 centimetres in height (165 cm for candidates belonging to North Eastern region, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras and Marathas). Female applicants must be at least 157 centimetres in height (152 cm for candidates from the North Eastern region, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras and Marathas). Chest: Male applicants must have a chest measurement of at least 80 centimetres with at least a 5-centimetre extension (or 85 centimetres for those from the North Eastern area, Garhwalis, Kumantis, Gorkhas, Dogras, and Marathas).

Weight

Both male and female candidates should have a healthy body mass index (BMI) that is appropriate for their height and age.

Physical Fitness

The applicants must be in good physical condition and have a minimum mile-running time of 6 minutes and 30 seconds (for male candidates) or 8 minutes and 30 seconds (for female candidates) (for female candidates).

Vision

Candidates must not be colorblind and must have 6/6 vision in both eyes without corrective lenses.

Tattoos

No ink is to be shown on any body part unless the candidate is a member of a recognised tribal community or the ink is religious.

Assam Rifles Recruitment 2023 Selection process

To qualify, applicants must score well on a written test. Questions on various topics, including English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, will make up the test. Those that pass must then demonstrate physical efficiency (PET). The performance evaluation task will feature a sprint, a long, and a high jump. After that, there will be some trade or talent exams.

Trade Test (Skill Test)

Those who succeed in the PET will then be invited to take a Trade Test (Skill Test) in the trade they have applied for.

Detailed Medical Examination

To move on to the next round, candidates who have passed the Skill Test must undergo a Detailed Medical Examination.

Final Selection

After passing a medical test, candidates will be chosen based on their scores in the written exam and the Trade Test.
