Kartarpur Sahib is a holy pilgrimage site for the Sikhs and it is located in Narowal district of Pakistan. The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, which was closed for 20 months, has been reopened on the occasion of Prakash Parv, the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev. On Wednesday (November 17, 2021), few devotees will leave for Sri Kartarpur Sahib to bow their heads. It is being re-opened due to the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev being celebrated on 19th November 2021.
In the month of November 2019, the Kartarpur Corridor was opened by India and Pakistan for Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, located within a distance of few kilometres from the border of Pakistan.Through this, people of the Sikh community living in the Indian state of Punjab will be able to easily go to Darbar Sahib. Earlier the journey which used to be about 125 kms, has now reduced to only 4.7 kms.
