On Friday, Neeraj Chopra made history at the Lausanne Diamond League 2022 by returning from an injury and winning the gold medal. Chopra took first place with a massive throw of 89.08 meters, qualifying him for the crucial Diamond League final in Zurich the following month and the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, which has a qualification mark of 85.20 meters. In such a predicament, all he can hope for is to bring his rural friends and family to the city, just as he did.
