IPL 2022 Mega auction Date and Time: The auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is about to begin. The big auction is expected to occur in the last week of December or the first week of January 2022. The BCCI has already received retention lists from all eight existing teams. Aside from the eight existing franchises, IPL 2022 will feature two new teams: Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
The IPL franchisees discharged several notable names from the IPL. KL Rahul, David Warner, Rashid Khan, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, and many more well-known stars were not retained by the eight current IPL teams and will now be auctioned off during the next IPL 2022 super auction.

While many assumptions have been made regarding which players would be purchased by which teams in the auction, the specifics will be revealed in the next IPL 2022 Auction since the clubs have now issued a list of their retained and released players on November 30. According to the authorities, the live auction was expected to take place on Star Sports in the first week of January 2022, but it has been postponed by one month and will instead take place in February 2022.
IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date and Time
As two new teams are added, the IPL plans a big auction to build up to ten teams, with two new clubs to spotlight this season.
IPL administration has already given all clubs until November 30, 2021, to announce their retained and dismissed players squad. On the other hand, the two new clubs, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, will now join the IPL 2022 by acquiring their team players on the next auction day.
According to the official release on December 23, 2021, the BCCI has chosen to hold the IPL 2022 Mega auction on February 12th and 13th, 2022. All ten clubs must reveal their complete list of players ready to play matches in IPL 2022. It is also stated that the major auction would be placed in Bangalore.

IPL 2022 Retention Rules
According to the IPL 2022 retention regulations, the two new franchises have the opportunity to target three players- two local and one international- between December 1 and December 25. Lucknow and Ahmedabad are permitted to select players from the pool of players released by the eight franchises.

The date and timing of the IPL 2022 super auction are yet to be announced by the BCCI. According to reports, the IPL 2022 auction will take place in the second week of February 2022.
IPL 2022 salary purse
The salary purse for the IPL 2022 auction has been enhanced from Rs 85 crore to Rs 90 crore per franchise by the BCCI. The eight teams were permitted to keep four, three, two, one, or no players at all.
