The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance test for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs provided by the countries’ 22 national law colleges.
The CLAT test is administered every year in May by a Consortium of National Law Universities. Every year, millions of students from all around the country seek admission to NLUs. CLAT Exam Date 2022
In a press conference conducted at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, the Consortium of National Law Universities’ Annual Executive Committee and General Body Meetings, chaired by Prof. Faizan Mustafa, announced the CLAT Exam Date. According to the statement, two Common Law Admission Tests will be held in 2022. CLAT 2022 will be held on May 8, 2022, while CLAT 2023 will be held on December 18, 2022. The comprehensive CLAT 2022 notification is scheduled to be issued this week.
According to the Consortium of National Law Universities’ amended CLAT Exams schedule, the CLAT 2022 Exam will be placed on May 8, 2022. Check out the CLAT 2022 preliminary timetable, which will be finalised after issuing the notice.

CLAT 2022: Eligibility
Applicants with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent grades in the Class 12 exam are eligible to apply for UG CLAT. Candidates who take the qualifying test in March or April 2022 are also qualified to take CLAT 2022. They will, however, be asked to provide proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, or they will forfeit their right to be considered for admission.
Candidates for CLAT PG must have an LLB or comparable degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade. The required score for applicants from the SC and ST categories is 45 per cent. There is no upper age restriction to appear in CLAT 2022.
CLAT 2022 Application Form
- CLAT 2022 application forms will be available on January 1, 2022.
- Candidates can only apply for the CLAT 2022 using the online route.
- Candidates must include a valid/working email address and phone number in the application form upon registering.
- Candidates must provide scanned photos of passport-size photographs and signatures in the appropriate format and size while filling out the form.
- Candidates will also have access to a correction tool to make any required adjustments to their application form.
- Candidates are recommended to print out the completed application form after filling it out.
CLAT 2022 Application Fees
- CLAT application fees are Rs. 4000 for applicants from the GEN/OBC/PWD categories.
- The application cost for SC/ST and BPL applicants is Rs. 3500.
- The fees can only be paid online (by debit/credit card or Net Banking).
CLAT UG 2022: Paper Pattern
The CLAT UG law paper is divided into five areas that include comprehension-based questions: Verbal Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Each part may consist of four to five comprehension texts followed by multiple-choice questions. The examination lasts two hours.
CLAT UG 2022: Syllabus
The CLAT 2022 UG paper will consist of 150 questions, and there will be 100 one-point questions and two essay questions at 25 points each. Candidates are recommended to read through the whole CLAT curriculum provided in the information booklet. Some of the topics covered in each segment will be as follows:
General Knowledge & Current Affairs
It covers themes such as fundamental general knowledge, current events and occurring, national and international current affairs, and much more.
English including comprehension
It covers themes like comprehension of the passage and its core idea, the meaning of terms used, and filling in the spaces.
The candidate’s understanding of elementary mathematics will be tested in this session.
This will include themes such as law studies, research aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
This area includes many logical reasoning topics, such as syllogism, logical sequences, and analogies, among others.
