Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn and directed by him, has just opened in theatres. The Ram Navami holiday will likely help the film’s box office numbers, especially in the North. Still, positive reviews and word of mouth will ultimately determine the movie’s success. The 2019 remake Bholaa, based on the film Kaithi, has already earned between Rs 2 crore and 5 crore from ticket sales.

Bholaa was expected to have a 20-crore opening day at one point, but considering the current pre-booking rate, it would not be surprising if it ended up with a total lower than Drishyam 2’s 15.38 crores on its first day.
According to the most recent trading data, Bholaa grossed 64 lakhs from advance ticket sales on its first release day. This was supposed to be a turning point for the film, but thus yet, nothing much has happened. The 1 crore threshold was expected to be broken by now, but with only two days left, everything appears to be at the mercy of the walk-in crowd.

On the first day of Advance Booking, Bholaa made a gross of 2.35 crores (not including blocked seats). It has sold approximately 84,500 tickets nationwide. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Bollywood’s previous major release, earned 3.40 crores on its opening day from pre-bookings; therefore, Ajay Devgn’s film is trailing by a wide margin.

Bholaa Vs Dasara Box Office Collection Prediction
The fact that it would be competing at the box office with Dasara is also likely to slow Bholaa’s momentum. The Tamil version of Nani’s film opens today, while the Hindi version opens on Friday. Both films are mass action entertainment; thus, positive word of mouth might hurt Bholaa’s box office takings.
It’s worth noting that Hindi films have maintained their audience better than other genres in the past, at least according to Box Office trends. Therefore Dasara might have a greater opening than Bholaa, but Bholaa could end up with higher earnings and a stronger hold if the reviews are positive.
